State Licensing Requirements – The Magical Child Daycare is licensed (#376623893) and complies with all applicable licensing regulations and standards. Our facility is subject to inspections by state and city health, fire, and licensing officials. We are required by law to report any suspected incidents of possible child abuse or neglect. Your child can be questioned by Child Protective Services at any time without your consent.

Daycare Hours – Monday thru Friday 7:00am – 5:30pm with the following Holiday exceptions:
Good Friday Memorial Day 4th of July Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day The day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve – New Years Day

** We allow ourselves 5 sick/personal days. We also use these days for continuing education requirements in order to keep our license in good standing. We will give you as much notice as possible. We allow ourselves 1 week vacation per year. The dates will be posted at least 1 month in advance.

Termination Policy – The first 2 weeks will be regarded as a trial period, in which case either party may terminate the contract without notice. After the first 2 weeks, a 30 day written notice is required from parent to terminate the contract, with the exception of gross misconduct on the part of the provider or child. This is grounds for immediate discontinuation of service.

Payments – Payment is due the Monday of each week or on the first day of the week attending daycare. Cash or check is accepted. A $25 fee will be incurred for any NSF checks.

Pick-up Policy – Children will only be released to those with written permission. There is a $20 per every 15 minutes late charge. Please be courteous and arrive at your scheduled time.

Health Matters – For the safety of your child and all of the children under our care, please DO NOT bring your child to daycare sick. We can only care for children with mild cold-like symptoms who are otherwise feeling/acting well. If your child becomes ill during daycare hours, you will be notified to pick your child up. Parents need to pick their children up within 1 hour of being notified. If parents are not available, the Emergency Contact person will be notified.

If a child is taking antibiotics for an illness, the child may return to daycare after the initial 24 hours of beginning antibiotics as long as he or she has a slight fever, is no longer contagious and is otherwise feeling well enough to participate in our daily activities. Please note that we DO NOT give medications of any kind to the children unless they are prescription and only if a medication consent form has been signed. Any child with a fever of 100 degrees or above may not attend daycare. State law requires us to inform parents of children who have been exposed to certain contagious diseases. Some signs of illness may include: lethargy, irritability, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, heavy cough, runny nose, vomiting, pink eye, chicken pox, lice, strep throat, or any other contagious disease or rash.

Emergency Care – Emergency information is kept on file at the daycare. In case of illness or injury, this information will be used to notify you or the person designated by you. If your child is injured at daycare, first aid will be administered. If treatment by a doctor is necessary, we will make every effort to contact you or the doctor you have chosen to treat your child. Authorization for emergency treatment must be signed at the time of enrollment to ensure that your child receives the necessary treatment in the event of an emergency. Please keep all information current and advise us of any changes. NOTE: in the case of a serious accident or sudden illness the following procedures will be followed:

  1. A 911 call is made.
  2. Child’s parents or Emergency Contact are called.
  3. Child is separated from other children and appropriately cared for.
  4. Parent, provider, or ambulance takes the child and health records to the doctor or hospital.

Evacuation Procedures – In the unlikely event that there is a natural disaster or an emergency, the children will be evacuated to an emergency location and you will be notified as soon as possible. Our emergency location of choice is The Vista Fire Dept. at the corner of Valley & Monte Vista.

Open Door Policy - The Magical Child Daycare offers a fun-loving environment where your child will grow and learn. We offer hands on activities to promote positive self esteem allowing for optimal growth in all areas of development. Please feel free to come and go at anytime throughout the day. However, keep in mind that in doing so it can prove to be disruptive to the other children in our care. During times like these, the other children have a hard time listening and following directions.

Behavior Management & Discipline – We believe that the discipline of a child is achieved through positive reinforcement, patience & consistency. We strive to teach manners, kindness and respect for others. If an unwanted behavior arises, we will focus on the child’s behavior not the child. We will offer positive guidance for developing a reachable behavior that the child can achieve with self confidence.

*We are CPR and First Aid certified * We are Child Nutrition Program providers

Throughout the day, your child will work on interactive learning activities, crafts, music & movement, Circle Time, reading, open-ended play, outdoor time, and pre-school or kindergarten readiness(if age appropriate). They will use their manners throughout the day by sharing, taking turns, using their words, sitting at the table nicely, saying please & thank you. At the Magical Child Daycare, your child will grow and learn in a safe nurturing environment.
